Important Blog Update!

newsThis will be my very final post on this particular site (Writing Ventures).

Keeping my website and blog separate has just become too complicated. I originally had some ideas about developing a writing community here, but my time is already stretched and I know that won’t be changing anytime soon. Since I’ve been working on redesigning my main website, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to combine both sites into one.

My author website will be shifting to the new design some time this week. Once that happens, new blog posts will go up there.

For those of you who occasionally stop by to see if I’ve posted anything or who find out about new posts via social media….nothing has changed.

But for blog subscribers, please note the following:

  • If you subscribe via e-mail, I’ve automatically updated your settings so you’ll continue to receive new blog posts without interruption. Please note that the e-mails will be coming from a new address. Please add blog[at]emmaraveling[dot]com to your email server’s safe list so that it doesn’t go to spam. Also, emails will now indicate that EmmaRaveling.com has posted a new blog post.
  • If you subscribe via RSS, you’ll need to update your feed. Once the new website is up and running next week, please stop by to grab the link.

And of course, if you only want to receive major announcements, bonus content, and exclusive extras, sign up for my newsletter!

Another newsletter will go out next week and will contain info on the special content I’ll be sharing this summer. 🙂

Admin Notice

newsMy website and blog will not be available over the weekend while I switch hosting providers.

Everything (hopefully!) will be back to normal by Monday.

In the meantime, if you need to reach me or need info, you can contact me via Facebook or Twitter. Thanks!

An update on where to find me online:

Facebook implemented changes at the beginning of this year that has made it harder to reach the majority of fans who’ve liked my page.

A very small percentage of you are currently able to see my updates in your news feeds and Facebook decides what posts to show you.

Like other authors, I’m here because so many of my readers are here and I want to provide you with an easy way to interact and get news/info.

But that’s getting harder to do and I can’t guarantee you’ll see my updates in your news feeds in any kind of timely/useful manner.

Tsu is a new site that seems like a hybrid of Facebook and Twitter. I just joined and have begun trying things out.

The site won’t randomly decide which posts to show my followers. So if you want to give it a shot, I’d love it if you could follow me there! I’m still figuring things out, but hopefully we can have a bit of fun while doing so.

The best way to never miss out on important announcements is by signing up for my newsletter. You’ll get exclusive extras (bonus scenes) and announcements before everyone else.

You can also still find me on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr.

I love hearing from you guys so please feel free to say hi wherever you like. 🙂

Crest Paperbacks and Blog Stuff

A few updates:

  • A printed proof of Crest paperbacks arrived for approval but I caught a layout error that needs to be fixed. I know several readers are waiting for this format so I apologize for the delay. I hope to have everything worked out by early next week.

If it makes you feel better, I’m planning a big Crest Release/ giveaway once that gets done. 🙂 I’m throwing in a bunch of fun prizes including new things I’m working on right now.

    Here’s a sneak peek:

Be on the lookout for that some time near the end of the month.

  • I’m adding two features to this blog. The recent “Friday Reading” segment will continue every other week. It gives me a chance to recommend a book and also provides a space for my readers to share what they’ve been enjoying with others.

The second bi-monthly feature, entitled “On My Desk”, will start tomorrow.

My Pinterest and Tumblr make visual allusions to setting, characters, and overall mood of each book. But I thought it might be of interest to readers if I shared what my brain stews over as I work. “On My Desk” posts will be a list of links to a wide range of topics – news, sociology, music, art, fun tidbits, movies, television, food, research articles, mythology, literature, and philosophical ideas and essays.

Basically, whatever is currently occupying my “mental desk” and providing grist for the writer’s mill.

Hope your Tuesday is going great. 🙂
